Welcome Friends!
I’m very excited and pleased to announce that La Zingara is making its debut today!
La Zingara translates from Italian, meaning the Gypsy; a free spirited person who has a passion for life and its adventures. This has been a passion of mine for quite some time and I’m so happy to be able to share with you everything I have been working on.
La Zingara Designs
I spent my time during, (do I dare even mention that “C” word?), apprenticing, learning and shaping my small artisan business. I had an idea to create unique and beautiful crossbody straps that are stylish, comfortable, and just begging to be taken on adventures. With these, I also envisioned and brought to life one of a kind tapestry handbags that feature designs purposely made for secure hands free exploration.

This idea of mine was born of my love for travel and also my passion for beautiful handcrafted items that can be used effortlessly with style. I have created La Zingara line of handcrafted Crossbody Straps using a unique combination of specially chosen jacquard woven and embroidered ribbons, hand cut and tooled Tuscan leathers, and solid brass hardware in beautiful finishes. There are also individually designed and handmade Tapestry Handbags that are meant to coordinate with the custom choices of Crossbody Straps. The end result has become a statement that each wearer makes uniquely her/his own!
It is important to note that each Artisan Handbag and Crossbody Strap is uniquely designed and handcrafted. They are made in very limited editions. No two pieces are exactly alike. The differences are intentional, therefore, the inventory for each is limited to one at a time.
I hope you have a moment to take a look at my new Shop La Zingara. There you will meet a very special gentleman who taught and inspired me to create this small business. Let me know what you think.
I would be happy to hear from you!

These collectible items are completely made by hand and are made in limited quantities. When a tapestry fabric or jacquard ribbon is no longer available, these handcrafted items will become collectors’ pieces.

My vision for this small business is to be able to work from anywhere!
I know we all experienced things that turned our lives a little sideways during the past couple of years, For me, the desire, and ultimately the decision, to create a new direction for my life blossomed as I set out to learn about and achieve operating a small online business.
La Zingara was born in Loveland, Ohio, where some pretty special family members reside. I was able to learn and apprentice the artisan craft of leather tooling, while designing and handcrafting beautiful crossbody straps.
My goal is to create limited edition pieces that can be offered and used all over the world.

Bohemian Alexis Crossbody Strap.
To date, my designs have traveled to Los Angeles, San Francisco, St. George, Utah, Upstate New York, New York City and Connecticut. I do believe most recently, that they have even made their way to Portugal and Spain. They have journeyed cross country on road trips across the USA. They have also reached Copenhagen, Denmark and Tuscany, Italy. When I ask where will La Zingara take you, I am asking where will your free spirited gypsy travel to next? Even if it is to the local outdoor markets, street fairs, and music festivals, the details of these designs create a beautiful way to express your unique style.

I think the thing I love most about this creative endeavor is sourcing some pretty amazing materials and textiles. The Vintage Leopardo Handbag shown above is made with a vintage silk upholstery weight textile that I was only able to make two handbags from. (You can find this and other pieces on Shop La Zingara) This is what creates such unique pieces! No two are alike and they are definitely rare!

There will be weekly new arrivals and updates on the Shop La Zingara page. I would love for you to take a few moments to take a look and let me know what you think!

I would like to thank Arielle DeFatta for working so diligently and brilliantly alongside me, to create the new look for this website. Would you believe that she is a Ballerina, a Sommelier, Wife, and the creative force behind POURSTYLES in San Diego, California? It is a big yes to all of the above! I am so fortunate to have her in my life. Thank you Arielle!
Going forward into the future, my blog will continue to include my stories, my recipes for food and cocktails, and the people who inspire me along the way. There will also be weekly updates on the current offerings available through Shop La Zingara.
Thank you for sharing your time with me here at La Zingara.
There is always reason to believe that the impossible is becoming possible; that there is a seemingly magical process of creation.
