An Attitude of Gratitude: Graduation to Summer Solstice and Beyond

I would really like to begin by saying that I am so grateful for all of the beautiful comments and support I have been receiving regarding the debut of

La Zingara!

It is one thing to put yourself out there and try to detach from the outcome. It is a whole other thing when you receive in return such an abundance of support, kind comments, and LOVE!

Just a HUGE WOW and Thank You to YOU ALL!

And now I must tell you that there is only one Vintage Leopardo Tapestry Handbag available! (✨And it’s a Stunner✨)

Today marks the Summer Solstice. It is the longest day of the year. Out here in La Jolla, California we are enjoying lots of sunshine and temperatures in the mid 70’s. Most mornings I am up very early, ready and waiting to watch the sunrise with Leo, my 11 year old Aussie. Today was no different, yet I must say that there was a little bit of anticipation and excitement lurking in the early morning hours.

I have done all of my routine things, finished up my daily task list, and even squeezed a couple of extras in. And guess what? It is only 12:30pm. That leaves me feeling very relaxed and happy. If this extra dose of energy is what this year’s Solstice is all about, I’ll take it.

Any parent out there knows that the past three years have been quite a challenge for our kids. For me, this is why I am so proud of my son, Rafaello, who just graduated from High School. Success in these unprecedented times is a true measure of stamina, character and perseverance, not to mention flexibility to roll with the ever changing landscape of social norms!

Congratulations to the Class of 2022✨🎓✨

Summer has already shown itself at my house. Bursting with humor and laughter, there have been more young people in and out of this house than I can remember in a very long time. There is an abundance of appreciation that my son’s friends show for the breakfasts, for the late night pizza parties, and for just a safe place to hangout. This is life; A Simple Good Life.

As I look towards the future, I know that everything comes from within. There are new ways of thinking to be discovered, along with new ideas waiting to be born. The PUSH of that little voice inside our hearts is the SECRET. That first little action to move forward must be celebrated the most. It often times comes with feelings of trepidation for the unknown or fear.

Fear is nothing more than: False Evidence Appearing Real

Just remember, out of nothing everything is created. You will find that there is infinite happiness and abundance in that one little step.

When I first began to listen to what my heart was telling me about starting La Zingara, it was the whisper of creating something with my hands and heart that triggered my passion. The artistry and development of each piece is something that flows forth from inside and through my hands.

As I finished up a custom order this morning, packaged it and took it to the Post Office for mailing, I was struck at how much of myself I put into the creation of these pieces. I sighed a farewell.

That 70’s Bag Collection, The Wave, has been so well received by all of you. As my son says, “Mom, we don’t even get the chance to photograph it properly. One second it is here and the next it is off on its new adventure!”

And that is exactly as it should be!

The last thing to be added to each La Zingara piece is the label. At the time each piece is complete (and I am ready to let it go), that is when it receives its label.
A metaphor for Life

Enjoy this beautiful Summer Solstice and all of the abundant gifts of this amazing season.

As always, “Where will La Zingara take you?”.

Everyone has always told me that it happens so quickly. One day they are little people and the next they are all grown up. This really hit home for me over the past few weeks. While I’m so excited and proud of where he is today, there is that part of me that still sees the little boy. I’m so thankful that I have this special time with him.
      XOXOX
