Nothing Else Matters

Nothing Else Matters

We connect with people on so many levels and in so many ways. Perhaps the most unexpected connection we can discover is that with ourselves, at a higher vibration.

I adore Metallica and I love the song Nothing Else Matters.

Trust I seek and find in you, Everyday for us something new. Open mind for a different view, And nothing else matters.”

I have been told on numerous occasions over the years that our actions should speak so loudly that we can’t hear what someone is saying. But, what if, in all our humanness, we make mistakes and we say we are truly sorry? Where do we go from here?

Faith and Fear cannot coexist in the same moment. We choose one or the other in every given situation. There is a stagnant energy that can envelope fear, which in turn can foster outdated ways of thinking and lack luster relationships. Taking action towards the dreams and desires we seek for ourselves calls forth the Faith needed to take charge of our destiny. This doesn’t always have to be on some grand scale, but it does require learning from past traumas and allowing the doors of our future to open up to bigger and better things.

It all begins and ends with forgiveness. When we learn to forgive ourselves, we also have a much larger capacity to forgive others. By learning what it means to forgive ourselves we learn acceptance of our imperfections and we begin to conquer our insecurities. We then begin to realize that the actions of others never really had anything to do with us in the first place. When we can meet each person right where they are at on their journey, we have already demonstrated unconditional love. This kindness will always tap into the flow of healing energy and become a strength, never a weakness.

My morning walks have given me the time to get clear on a few things lately. A positive mindset finds acceptance and opportunities in everything, and I do mean everything! This positivity encourages us to set boundaries about what is worth investing time in and what is no longer going to take up another minute in our lives. We have a choice in every moment of everyday of which way to go. I like to think about this as how big would I like the sky above me to be? There is limitless power and potential in a thought like this.

FABLES AND FOLKLORE

As a young girl growing up in Upstate New York, my family and I would take weekend trips, in the summertime, to visit with my mom’s twin sister and her family in the Adirondack Mountains. Along the way, in Gloversville, we would always stop at Leonzo’s Pizza. I wonder if it is even there anymore. My dad would order the biggest pizza they made, which was on an absolutely huge sheet pan. It was double the size of the sheet pans that fit in my ovens here at home! In addition, he would order a few dozen two foot long garlic breadsticks and my absolute favorite, TARALLI.

Taralli are an unleavened, boiled and baked snack that can be seasoned many different ways. While they are similar to pretzels and crackers, they truly have their own distinct taste and texture. My favorites are always the ones seasoned with fennel seeds and black pepper.

As the saying goes, “Finire a taralluci è vino.” Loosely translated, this means to mend differences over a glass of wine and Taralli.

The goal: To have healthy relationships!

As we celebrate Thanksgiving this coming week with family and friends, I will be creating my Gratitude List. It will begin with Love and be woven with strong threads of Faith. How we perceive things is a key component to Gratitude. And Gratitude is a key component to JOY!

🍂🍁HAPPY THANKSGIVING🍁🍂

My extended family has just grown exponentially in size, but more importantly, in LOVE♥️.

Congratulations to Eileen and Christopher. I could not possibly ask for a more loving, kind and strong Sister(in-law)! I cannot wait to spend time again with all of these beautiful souls. I am so happy for you both!

He said, “Write it on your Heart ♥️ that everyday is the Best day of the year. He is rich that owns the day, and no one owns the day who allows it to be invaded with fret and anxieties. Finish everyday and be done with it. You have done what you could. Some blunders and absurdities, no doubt crept in. Forget them as soon as you can, tomorrow is new day; begin it well and serenely, with too high a spirit to be cumbered with your old nonsense. This new day is too dear with its hopes and invitations, to waste a moment on the yesterdays.”

This is such a beautiful coastal village to walk through. It really isn’t a village by any standards, but this is what we call it. And there is so much to explore around every corner. ✨🍁Happy Autumn🍁✨
