It’s been a week of breakthroughs, excitement, and change around here! I’m sharing about getting ready for my very first Instagram Live Show, coming up this week, along with looking for the light and believing in it! (especially when you can’t quite see it yet!) Also, I’ll be sharing my favorite summer cocktail: a Pink Cosmopolitan, of course!
When we choose to use our abilities to look at things with a new perspective, we can visualize different ways of seeing and doing things that might otherwise have seemed out of our reach. Shedding light into the dark recesses can literally transform the mystery of the unknown into something quite exciting! One steady point of light can be all that is necessary to break down these walls of illusion and illuminate an entire galaxy.
When I think about all of the ways that I can make things happen, I’m always grateful for the support with the things that I need help with, as well. My family and close friends have been very encouraging and have believed in me, even on the days when I can’t quite do it for myself.
I have also learned along the way that while many others consider themselves supportive, sometimes their own limitations stop them from being able to show it. While they try to impart their way of doing things or try to make a point, somehow what they really are teaching us is their own limiting beliefs and abilities. And isn’t this what life is all about? There is something to learn in every situation!
I have been working on putting together my first Live Show to showcase some of my favorite La Zingara pieces. I will stream live on Instagram Tuesday morning, August 1st at 11 am PT.
Here is a little sneak peek of the beautiful handmade pieces from my collection. I thought it would be fun to show you how easy it is to mix and match the different crossbody straps with the one of a kind tapestry handbags.
There are quite a few hours of labor that go into the creation of each La Zingara piece. In the crossbody straps alone, there are 25 pieces of solid brass hardware! When I was first designing these pieces, I made the conscious choice to create pieces that will stand the test of time. I wanted, and still want, these handcrafted items to be of heirloom quality and beauty. When you first touch the hand tooled leather in your hand, you can just feel the weight and artistry of something other than a mass produced thing.
My hope and desire is that people are interested and looking for unique, limited edition artisan pieces that call to their hearts!
Summertime in Las Vegas is unbelievably hot! I have rearranged my entire schedule of when and how to work and get things accomplished. When I say to you that I’m up at 4 am and walking Leo by 5:30 am, it is no joke! By 6:15 am the sun is blazing as he and I head home. Water is truly my best friend in this heat.
By late afternoon, early evening, I’m ready to relax with a refreshing cocktail. My favorite drink this summer is, of course, PINK! With all attention on Barbie these days, it is just fun to play along. I’m sharing my recipe for a Cosmopolitan. My cousin Nancy shared her recipe for this with me, and then I adjusted it to my taste. I’m not a big fan of sweet drinks, so for me, this is the perfect balance between cranberry juice and fresh squeezed lemon juice.
- 3 ounces Ketel One Vodka, or your favorite vodka
- 1 1/2 scant ounces Cointreau
- 1 1/2 ounces Ocean Spray 💯 Cranberry Juice
- The juice squeezed from 1/2 of an organic lemon 🍋
- Organic lemon slices, for garnish
You will need 2 martini glasses, 1 shaker & strainer, and good quality ice cubes.
Combine the vodka, Cointreau, cranberry juice and fresh squeezed lemon juice with ice in the cocktail shaker. Shake vigorously until an ice film forms on the outside of the shaker. Strain into chilled martini glasses. Garnish with lemon slices. Cin Cin!
Embrace who you are and settle into the feeling of being authentically loved by yourself first. You will never have to chase love because it all flows naturally from you and towards you.
“Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don’t matter and those who matter don’t mind.” ( I attribute this quote to Dr. Seuss, although this may be a matter of different minds.)
